Dr Artur Binda, MD, is a specialist in general surgery with many years’ experience in the surgical treatment of gastrointestinal disorders and abdominal hernias. He has been involved in clinical surgery since the start of his professional career and currently works at the Prof. W. Orłowski Specialist Hospital in Warsaw, where he has served as Head of the Central Operating Theatre since 2012.
In his practice, he focuses particularly on minimally invasive surgery, including surgical treatment of obesity, revision bariatric surgery, as well as the treatment of abdominal hernias – particularly inguinal hernias – gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, hiatal hernias and gallbladder disorders. He has many years’ experience in assessing patients for surgical treatment and in performing laparoscopic procedures.
In his work with patients, he attaches great importance to accurate diagnosis, appropriate assessment for surgery, and a calm and clear discussion of the available treatment options. For him, a surgical consultation is significant not only as a stage preceding the operation, but also as an opportunity to jointly choose the most appropriate course of action.
Dr Binda is a graduate of the First Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Warsaw. He completed his specialisation in general surgery in 1999 (first level), and in 2004 he obtained his second-level specialisation. In 2015, he was awarded a Doctor of Medical Sciences degree.
His professional experience also includes research and teaching activities. He is the author and co-author of over 50 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed Polish and international journals, and he also participates in clinical trials and teaches courses on minimally invasive surgery, the treatment of hiatal hernias, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and bariatric surgery.
As part of his surgical consultations, he focuses in particular on the assessment and treatment of patients with conditions requiring surgical intervention, including hernias, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, gallbladder disorders, and conditions requiring bariatric and revision surgery.
If there are indications for surgical treatment, the patient can discuss the possible treatment options, the extent of the procedure and the subsequent treatment plan during the consultation.
