Graduated from the 1st Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Warsaw in 1985. Upon graduating, began working at the Clinic of General Surgery of the Centre of Postgraduate Medical Education in Warsaw, where he continues to work to this day as Head of the Clinic.

Has held or currently holds the following positions: President of the Video Surgery Section of the Society of Polish Surgeons; honorary member of the ESWL Section of the Polish Urological Association; honorary member of the Video Surgery Section of the Society of Polish Surgeons; member of the Executive Board of the Society of Polish Surgeons; member of the Board of the Warsaw Branch of the Society of Polish Surgeons; member of the Board of the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Section of the Society of Polish Surgeons; member of the Editorial Board of Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques; member of the editorial committee of the Polish Journal of Surgery.

The scientific output comprises over 170 publications in Polish and international journals. Member of the following scientific societies: Society of Polish Surgeons (TChP); Video Surgery Section of the TChP; Polish Society of Gastroenterology; European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES); Polish Society of Surgical Oncology; International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO); European Society of Surgical Oncology.

For many years, has been an active participant in attestation courses, thematic courses, regional training sessions, general practitioner training, and individual training programmes organised by the Clinic of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery of CMKP.

Areas of clinical interest: surgical treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases; gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and hiatal hernias; neoplastic diseases of the oesophagus; colorectal surgery — diverticular disease and cancers; bariatric and metabolic surgery.

For many years, has been conducting practical training in advanced laparoscopic surgery, with particular emphasis on laparoscopic techniques in colorectal cancer surgery, and bariatric and metabolic surgery.
