prof. dr hab. Maciej Słodkowski
Graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Warsaw. From the beginning of his professional career, affiliated with the Clinic of General, Gastrointestinal and Oncological Surgery of the Medical University of Warsaw, operating within the Independent Public Clinical Teaching Hospital at Banacha Street 1a. From 1996 to 1998, received comprehensive training in gastrointestinal and vascular surgery in the United Kingdom as part of a specialization fellowship at the University of Leicester. Holds specializations in general surgery and oncological surgery. At the Medical University of Warsaw, obtained successive academic degrees and the title of Professor (2015). Author of over 100 publications and 250 congress presentations. Teaching activities include instruction of medical faculty students at the Medical University of Warsaw and postgraduate training of residents. Since 2016, has served as head of the clinic and head of the ward. Member of the Board of the Society of Polish Surgeons and the Board of the Polish Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and Metabolism.
Main professional activity covers surgical treatment of patients with gastrointestinal cancers (oesophagus, stomach, colorectum, pancreas, biliary tract and liver, and rare tumours), treatment of acute and chronic pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel diseases, and severe surgical complications.
