Graduated from the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Faculty of Medical Sciences, and completed a specialization in internal medicine.

Senior Assistant at the Oncological Gastroenterology Clinic at the National Cancer Institute in Warsaw.

Doctoral candidate at the Doctoral School of Translational Medicine of the Centre of Postgraduate Medical Education. Lecturer at the Department and Clinic of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Clinical Oncology at the Centre of Postgraduate Medical Education.

Areas of interest: diseases of the pancreas, liver, and biliary tract; gastrointestinal endosonography (EUS); gastrointestinal endoscopy.

At the PFG Endotherapy unit, Dr Szmit performs endoscopic examinations.
