prof. dr hab. Andrzej Habior
Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum in Kraków in 1968. Specialist in internal medicine and gastroenterology, including the title of Fellow of the European Board of Gastroenterology.
From 1973 until retirement in 2015, was continuously employed at the Gastroenterology Clinic of the Centre of Postgraduate Medical Education (CMKP) in Warsaw.
Was a recipient of a one-year fellowship in the United States. At the Gastroenterology Clinic of CMKP, progressed through all stages of an academic career — doctorate in 1980, habilitation in 1992, and the title of professor in 2003.
Over more than 40 years at CMKP, served as a lecturer at numerous scientific congresses and conferences, lecturer on specialization and continuing education courses, specialization supervisor, member of examination boards, and reviewer of doctoral and habilitation dissertations as well as applications for the title of professor. Served as promoter in 5 doctoral proceedings. Author of over 120 publications.
Served as Deputy Director of CMKP and Head of the Clinical and Educational Studies unit at the same institution, and also as president of the Polish Society of Gastroenterology and, for several terms, as a board member of the Polish Society of Hepatology.
Main scientific and clinical interests: liver diseases.
Remains professionally active in the field of gastroenterology, with a particular focus on patients with liver diseases. Works at the Polish Gastroenterology Foundation. Professor Habior also runs a private practice in Busko-Zdrój, at Staszica Street 15, appointments: +48 608 540 120.
